He has published two works of non-fiction: Antigone Undone: Juliette Binoche, Anne Carson, Ivo van Hove and the Art of Resistance (2019) and Death in Venice: A Queer Film Classic (2011). His essays and arts criticism have appeared in Paris Review, Brick, Threepenny Review, Arts Fuse, Globe & Mail and a variety of other publications. As a writer-broadcaster covering the arts, he has worked for CBC radio and television, NPR and TVOntario. His latest book is the novel The Swells. He lives in Montreal.
