Interview / Entrevue

I didn’t really grow up with the kind of parents I’d have to hide books from! Reading was difficult for me in adolescence, so maybe I spent more time hiding the fact that I wasn’t doing it.

The opening to Amy Hempel’s “The Harvest” (At The Gates of the Animal Kingdom): “The year I began to say vahz instead of vase, a man I barely knew nearly accidentally killed me.”

To me my desk is as clean as it can be considering the non-negotiables: planner, notebook, current read (Reward System by Jem Calder), post-its where I track migraines, and a tube of Dr. Jart+ hand lotion.

That I’ll run out of ideas or that I’m not a good enough person to write a good book.

To write and record a solo album.
