Lucy Hemphill is a Kwakwaka̱’wakw author from the Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw Nation. She graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Arts in First Nations & Indigenous Studies in 2019. She works to support cultural and language revitalization in her community. Her first book in the acclaimed ‘Overhead Series’, Clouds was released in 2016. The second book in the series, Stars, was a CBC Books best book of poetry selection for 2018. The third and final book in the series entitled, Trees, releases September 2022. It completes eight years of work.
